Hiya. Had some time to kill and the board's been totally dead lately so I thought I'd make some biggies out of scans from Omnipresence in the Wired and throw 'em up here. Enjoy.

Last one. What I'd really like is an art book full of full color, full page ABe art in all its uh, fullness. Or full sized prints for individual pieces. Either way would be crazy costly I'd imagine, but do such things exist?

Not in the US, but yeah, both exist; GoFA did two sets of ABe prints, and Wani has published at least one general ABe artbook. And you're right, both of them go for a pretty penny, from what I've seen.

Why weren't those sketches in the (US) Omnipresence book? Were they published in a new version, or were they Japanese-exclusive or something?

I also liked the original cover way more than the US one, but that's another story.

They're there - check right around the middle of the book, under the section labeled "Diary on Game." They're a little small, but they were CGs for a PlayStation game.

I'd love to continue working on this, but the translation notes kind of got farked over when the old board went down; I can't tell which pages they were referring to. Would be happy to get the pages back up on the thingy and get down to business, if anybody's up for polishing off the translation, though!

By this logic, somebody like Miyazaki makes films with young female leads because he doesn't have enough "life experience". Yeah, right.

There aren't any creators in Japan who do things other than introverted teenage girls. At least he isn't Key.

Miyazaki's girls don't seem like young girls; the way they're young girls is in a sort of symbolic way. The psychological insight is general, not specific, whereas ABe's girls seem to draw on ABe's own experience.

If you've seen Wasteland inside the Robot anthology, however, ABe seems to be branching out. Ran is a particularly interesting Texhnolyze character, but for the first time, men, like Ichise, Yoshii, and Kano, seem to have meaning beyond their relationship to the main female lead. On the other hand, Texhnolyze sucked for characterizations, and Wasteland was somewhat disappointing.

The translation Thingy linked up there links in all of its pictures. The pictures got moved or removed, so suddenly I'm left with a bunch of translations all out of order. I also don't think all the pages ever got finished.

Still got the cleaned files and a bit more than you see here edited in... but that's at home, which is about four weeks away for me right now.

It certainly does.

I was going to do that too, but I opted to get two tails on the sides and then chop one off when they got long enough to just have one. Then the old chinese lady who cut my hair put the tails BEHIND my ears for some reason, so uh....looks like I have to wait another year to grow out the right part of my hair. ;_;
