I can't quite put it right, but the way he draws his characters is less sharp than most other character designs.

It's because of not using a straightedge, or something.

It's from the new Lain artbook - "yoshitoshi ABe lain illustrations" - published by DMP Manga in the US. There's a few other new images in it, too; overall quality is similar to their Robot releases, which I've been pretty happy with.

(Man, I'd kill for them to release the Haibane artbook in the US)

I have translations for 'White Rain' and 'Where the Rain Falls' done by the excellent neuroretardant; we've also got the first 'Pochiyama at the Pharmacy' short translated here, but it was a joint effort through waha's translation system (no real script - the system can be used to directly annotate spots on the pages).

@Wingless: Might have that in Japanese somewhere in the uber-collection; it was an outtake from the middle of one of the infamous Mutekei-Fire doujins.

It was ABe's debut ('Ame no furu basho'), I think (all the way back in 1992). neuroretardant did a script for it that I've had lying around for ages and ages.

Sorry, i was a few months completely absent in the internet.

Nobody's got the second Pochiyama yet; we'd be working on it if we did, though. And we only have bits and pieces of the scenario collections (Novastar scanned most of number 1, I think) - aren't they're pretty much just the scripts from the TV show and random lineart/sketches?

Not only do I have access to Pochiyama 2 but also I solved my Photoshop problems!
