MERCHANDISE GET

This artbook isn't an exact reprint of an omnipresence in wired; it's missing a few of the full-page shots, I think, and definitely a lot of the very small pieces. But the most important ones are all there, the text is translated except for one page with written notes on a refrigerator, and it has a page spread for each episode and a history section listing all of ABe's non-doujin work (also the cons he attended, the times he moved, when his various bicycles were stolen, and the launch dates of various Apple products).

There are five typos in the artbook, can you find them all? I'll give you a gimmick tripcode!

>> No.2

Oh, bonus points if you explain the last paragraph in ABe's epilogue. I'm perfectly confident in the book's translation, I just don't get it.

i got he japanese version with hardback box thingy ^^

>> No.4

Ooh. Out in the US now, eh? I'll snap that one up ASAP.

>> No.5

So which is better? The japanese version or the translated version with the "exclusive 'how-to' section by Yoshitoshi Abe and a selection of pencil drawings not previously seen in the Japanese edition." yet "it's missing a few of the full-page shots, I think, and definitely a lot of the very small pieces"?

>> No.6

I like this one better. Just don't delete your old scans.

>> No.7

just waiting for mine to arrive...

>> No.8

What's the "how to" section? I have a copy of the Japanese version. As previously mentioned, it came in a box, which I thought was quite nice. Keeps it very secure.

>> No.9

Crap, mine hasn't even come IN YET. Grr. Curse you, Amazon. sigh

>> No.10

hope some group can scan and post it

>> No.11

It's $16, man. I think you can afford $16.

And now I'm going to take it to Otakon and try to get it signed by Ayako Kawasumi, even though I can't actually find her character in it.

>> No.12

16$ only wow...

I saw it at an anime store for $31...

>> No.13

I saw it for 60$. I was going to get it too, but then I thought to myself, "No". ABe... maybe next time.

>> No.14

okay... let me understand this..
Is this the exact same book as "An Omnipresence in Wired" or is it completely different?

and if so.. which one is better?
The U.S. version or the Import Japanese version?

Thanks

The new book is not identical to the original. As I understand it, the new release includes MANY of the pictures that appeared in the original, although a few have been left out. I also believe that the new release contains some artwork that wasn't included in the original.

Apparently the new English release also has a "How To" section by ABe, something you won't find in the original (or the Japanese version of the new release). Since I own the Japanese version of the new release, I still don't really know what this "How To" part is about, so if someone could do me the favor of explaining it, that'd be awesome.

I can scan it if you like, but your not missing much

there was a double page spread of the picture labeled (C) on this page in between the two pages

>> No.21

Huh. I guess I'm really not missing out on anything special, after all.

>> No.22

same... what the heck? that's too much.

>> No.23

I got this for $25, not a bad price though $16 would rock.
I would of gotten Robot though if it haven't been hidden in the store somewhere.
A good buy none the less.
