I watched the Dark Knight on blu-ray and my first reaction was "IT'S SO SHARP MY EYES ARE BLEEDING!!" but this? this just looks like dvd-quality video stored on a blu-ray disc.

These images aren't impressive, but that youtube trailer looks VERY crisp.

I have the blu ray and it looks much better then that....well 'better' to me, some people hate how the Blu ray came out looking, but I've watched the whole thing and I loved it so whatever....

Also where is the cheapest place to pre-order the Lain Blu-ray? I think Amazon.co.jp is at ￥20,202 but has anyone seen it cheaper?

There is a lot of fake 720p versions of Haibane Renmei on the internet. They are just 480p (DVD version) converted to 720p.

Why buy it in Japanese? It's going to be localized by Funimation.

No different than the actual Blu-ray version.

It's just up-converted. They did not re-animate Lain just to make the Blu-Ray. It's the same thing just released on a more modern media.

Lain was re-telecined and the CG was re-rendered for HD. They really did remake half of it, which is why it was delayed for a year.

Does anyone know what the song in the trailer is? I recall it from the Niea_7 soundtrack but I never could seem to find it...
